Tomas,

I was using Timothy Potter's tutorials for the braid and for the Egyptian-style woven pouch. The pouch is pretty deep, but with my loom and the number of warp threads I used...it works out to cup a tennis ball just about perfectly.

Thank you on the advice on tapering a round braid. I'll definitely give that a try!

I think that I figured out how to taper a round braid...I couldn't sleep last night and I whipped this up. This one was my first attempt at a six-strand round braid...It has juuuust a bit more thickness to it than the four-strand version, makes it easier to pinch the release-cord.

I have been practicing with my braiding and weaving, more so then actual slinging. The first is a rockman with a leather tab. (Rockman is a gift). The second is an apache style. With elk hide and sinew.

@Tomas.  I haven't experimented with the small slit in middle.  What excatly does it help with? Pinching the ammo better? But this is my new hybrid sling. First time I used a template from this site.  It's water buffalo leather, really tough to cut. I think it's just ruined my scissors.  So leather pouch with 550 paracord. I have yet to get out and try my last few creations.

Nice sling. It might take a while to break in... Try making it wet before you sling with it to help break ii.
Ya the slit helps keep the ammo in the pouch.

My jute and leather EDC sling, next to a paracord and leather one that I made for my uncle, who I'm going to teach to sling.

Love those tarred bankline slings!!! That has been by far my favorite sling making material for feel, weight, and durability and I've made several similar tut slings myself. ...  The bottom sling has been my favorite for quite a while now.

I was pretty good at slinging like 10 years ago.
