Here is my new / remake of a king tut I took apart my first tut that I made as it was not the best and I can't find the cord that I used to make it so after I took it apart I made this

It's basically a mini bull whip with a pouch
The finger loop cord has a braided 4 strand core with para cord outer going over the braid then 8 strand diamond braid over that to the finger loop

The release cord has the same but only the first 6 inch has the paracord outer and 8 stand diamond braid it's then tapered the same way as a bull whip to six stand braid with the cords tapered in the braid itself to 4 strand braid to the release knot to a cracker  Cool lol

This is the sling I took apart to make the new one

I only wish I made the 4 stand braid the other way from what I did so it would have green and black cord at each side not green one side and black on the other as I was braiding it  Undecided but cords where from this old tut so was all I could do

If you watch this video at about 35 mins in it shows how I tapered the release cord

Awesome work by all of you guys! You really make work of art.
I was also working on some new slings, but had no opportunity to take pictures yet. Hopefully I´ll be able to do that soon.
Till then, here´s a picture I found while googling for peruvian slings.

Here's a sling pouch and a ammo bag that my father made for me last summer. The sling has rattlesnake inlays. I attached the cords to it in a unique way too. After running the para-cord straight through the reinforced holes, I melted a good bit of material and flattened it into thick discs. It's really simple and works like a charm. The ammo bag is modeled after a saddle bag from a motorcycle. It has a magnetic closure for the flap.

damn. that is one heck of a sling. I made an aussie-style sling from a copperhead skin. worked great. Until I lost it... snakeskin makes amazing camo.

Somewhere, while browsing this forum, I saw a picture with some arabian dude with his face covered with a white turban, slinging a huge brick. Can't find it anymore. Can anyone help finding it? Smiley

The sling I made now is, regarding the design, not something special or beautiful. But the materials are a bit uncommon. What you see on this picture is a worn out pair of trousers.
I ripped it into strips and braided a sling out of it. The sewing at the release end is made with "airbag sewing thread". Yes, that exists and I got hold of a sample of some hundred meters of it. However I'm not yet sure for what purpose it is best used. It is marketed as "extremely stretchable, strong and abrasion-resistant with a high melting temperature and a breaking elongation of approximately 30 %" so I guess it could become my multipurpose thread. The next thing I will try is its durability as cracker. So far I can only tell that it is not really suited for knotworks.

Finally I could take pictures and resize them, so here are the slings I´ve made in the last 1-2 months.

And more...

The solid pouch wool sling was planned as a Tut-sling, but the pouch turned out too small. So with half of the release-end strands I made a loop some inches away from the pouch, braided back over the core, added the other release-cord strands and made two flat braids flanking the pouch. Then I attached them by sewing. Now there were too many strands on the retention side, therefore the two round braids there.

And the latest one, a heavy peruvian sling made with synthetic (acrylic) wool. All free ends were sewn into the braid, so there are no knots and no glue was necessary.

Two days ago I tested all the slings. All of them worked as exspected. Especially I liked the last 3 peruvian slings.
The solid pouch wool sling throws very accurate, but is tricky because sometimes the rock slipped out.

I like the color pattern on the Peruvian split pouch with the red and yellow:)
By the way, what happens to all of your slings you make?
