Changed things up a bit, did a closed pouch and also I started in the pouch for this one... I miscalculated the length of the strings a bit, didn't take into account how much they'd shorten after slip stitching into the chain stitch so it's about 4 inches shorter than I'd initially intended... but still fine. tossed a few paper balls around last night with it but haven't taken it out to really use it yet.

also, the picture doesn't do it justice... it is slightly concaved as well so it will cradle a bit better.  about 3/4 of an inch.

again, dunno how accessible these pictures are... still haven't figured out how to post them directly onto the forum. **updated the link... should work now.

I don't have a witty sling related pun or quote to put here yet... but I'll think of something eventually.

AoA, I could see the first picture but not the second.  Those look good.

Back when Mas was a student, he wanted to learn how to do a sling that way, now he has a job and I don't think he has the time right now.

Will the tar come off and coat the inside of your pockets? I always roll my sling and store it in my front pocket with my keys and change and whatever else. It often unrolls and tangles with my keys but man, do they get soft!

Usually when we here the term "tarred line" we think of something along the lines of waxed line with twine dripping with tar. This is a misconception. Its really just stiffer, darker, and has more longevity.

I've been carrying it for a couple days and I've never had any such problems and I don't think it could happen. I'd encourage anyone to try it out for themselves without a fear of sticky pockets.

Great show since my last posting here! You all made a really good work.

@ Donnerschlag: nice photo of the Greek style. I haven´t tried it since last autumn, cause I´ve never reached a satisfying accuracy. Now, some days ago (remembered of this style by your picture) I retried it and it worked very well. I guess it is because I´ve practiced a lot during the last months and got more secure with the sling.

Since two weeks I repeatedly try a new style, which has its origin in the Afghan sidearm style. Unfortunately I´m unable to make a video, but I try to explain it. In the starting position (for right handed slingers) you´re holding the sling behind your lower back with extended arms.  The left shoulder is facing to the target and the sling is held under a slight tension. Then you release the pouch you were holding with the left hand and let it swing horizontally behind you to the right, while you follow it with the right arm. Before the pouch is exactly on your right hand side, accelerate the movement of your arm. Now it goes for a half circle 45° upwards (in front of you, from right to left), then horizontal  behind you, from left to right. Then, when the pouch is in front of you, release. It may sound complicated with my foreign English description, but for me this style turned out to be very intuitive, accurate and powerful.

But now enough words! Here is the first of some pictures of my latest slings.
