Rubber makes a functional and useful pouch. It works well. Its not quite as durable as leather for an apache.

A Simple Slingwith 3 bugle cords (ABOK#2950) making up the pouch. Neither pretty nor symmetrical and it's ended up too short so I may never know if it works either. Roll Eyes

POST-PHOTO EDIT: I've now re-tied the sheepshanks so that no cords are crossing and I've shortened the the 3 single strands between the bugle cords and sheepshank so that it all sits a bit better. It's now almost long enough to use (I like my sling to just touch the ground from a relaxed arm).
I'm still a seatbelt devotee though.

The cord is synthetic sash line liberated from work. Almost indestructible but very hard on skin.

Hi people, this is my first sling from natural materials! And my third sling i completed. It has many problems, since i cant weave like a pro, but for a third sling im happy. Second picture show that pouches are not equal, and i added whip wrap very awkward but this shoots really nice, and i can feel "feedback" from stone now ( when the stone or ammo wants to go out of pouch ). Oh and btw, i used jute twine.

Checked my mail late this evening, and lo and behold my paracord came in. Perfect cure for my insomnia.

Found the youtube video for a TIAT sling and gave it a try. After nearly 2 hours I gave it up as a lost cause, just couldn't get the pouch right. Since I was already in a weaving mind I decided to try a woven pouch TS5, but with a twist.

Technically its a TS6 made form a single continuous cord. Started off like a normal TS5, but then looped the release cord up to make 6 pouch cords then used the release cord to weave the pouch. I suck at weaving so this took an embarrassingly long time but it looks workable. Will toss some tennis and golfballs and pretty much anything else I can fit into it in the morning.
