My two new slings. I've taken pretty well to the braiding process.
This first one is made from six 48# hemp cords and a large shaped leather pouch for tennis ball sized projectiles.
The retention loop.
This next one is Cotton cord with a shaped leather pouch for golf ball size projectiles.
They throw pretty well.

I like the large pouches, especially for throwing those tennis balls around
Nice Job !!!

This is probably my 5th or 6th sling. It frays easily with most rocks, but it is very nice for tennis balls.
It's para-cord, and 60 cm (2 ft) long from mid-pouch to the release knot. The pouch is 15 cm (6 in.) long, and the split in it is 9 cm (3.5 in.)
Edit: I will try to get a build-along or instructions posted in a few days.

Hi Cliff,
I really like the design. It looks so simple and uncluttered. I assume there are no actual joins, ie. it is made from just one continuous piece of paracord that continues on into the release and retention cords. If so what is the overall length of cord required to make the complete pouch?

Here is the most uncommon sling of my collection. My father in law bought on Madagaskar. The man who sold it to him showed him how to sling. He used the Apache style and shot a pebble abpout 70 to 80 m far. I plan to cut a new sling (this one is a little bit torn) from leather in the same shape and I'm curious how it works.
