Quote:Very nice. I need to sit down one of these days and pound out a Tut sling of my own. I tried it once with hemp wasn't impressed with the results. The hemp I used was very stiff and hard to work with. The sling is okay, just isn't tight and neat like yours. Good job.
Thanks

I think the factors that helped me most with weaving with this material is the lack of stretch, thickness (easier to see mistakes before they're permanent), and [to an extent] the stiffness of the jute I used. (My other attempts were with thin cotton and nylon, which were too slippery, thin, and stretchy for learning this.

) I must be a masochist, because the cotton twine I'm using on my current one is thinner than most cordage I usually use, and is a taaaad stretchier than the jute I used before. As a result, the warps are shifting around and will form uneven rows, if I'm not careful. So yeah, make sure your first Tut is made with a rather forgiving material.
