These are my slings to date. All except the bottom white nylon split pouch have been made in the last 2 months as thats when ive begun sourcing different materials and trying new techniques. I havnt really made any non braided or woven slings, and I prefer natural materials, maybe im missing out I dont really know!
Top is masons line string 9 strand, small sawed off only slings large biconical rocks Next is hemp six strand split woven in pouch, good for 2oz lead sinkers or small stones Third and fourth are 9 strand cotton wool one 30 inches the other 15, only useful for small and heavy ammo, which means lead or concrete. Fifth is jute rockman six strand, braided so tightly it gave my hands rope burn, which as as ive discovered gives no advantage! Six is jute also, split woven in pouch, this is an absolute banger and my most used and favourite, a war sling most definitely. Next is 9 strand jute and wool mix, ive modified it and added leather around the pouch arms, very accurate if a bit rough and ready, was my second sling. Last is my very first sling, a six strand nylon balearic style, thick cord makes it heavy, great on range and trajectory not on accuracy!
