Hi guys, there are some of my slings:

My replicas of pharaoh's slings. Materials: cotton 2,5mm, jute, linen. (Click on pictures to get higher resolution photos)

My newest sling, the best one

Rest of my slings, and 3 puches waiting for "arms"

And finaly whole family together

Pharaoh's replica is is not as easy to do as I thought. My first Tut sling I've made at fourth try. I have made about 8-9 Tut's and now I can say, that I can do this right way.

I really like those pharoh replica slings

I have really got the bug in the last couple of weeks, and also have a bit of time and some materials to hand.

I have made a tri-colour braided hemp sling, which is a short one for my son, who broke his arm yesterday Sad

This is my 3rd braided sling and I am getting the hang of keeping the braids even. I want to try a round 4-braid cord next, with a braided pouch. This sling is quite stiff and whippy, but will probably loosen up with use. I am going to try and sling left handed with him.

I have also made a couple more leather pouch slings. The first one (again for my son) has knotted ends to the cords held by whipping, which I am going to glue. The slits make the stones sit in the sling better. We are still using uneven angular stones. The cords are jute sash cords.

The next one I have just made and tested. I was looking for a way to swap cords easily, avoid a big hole in the leather and protect the release cord, and decided to see if my sewing machine could get through the leather. I originally planned it so the knots would be at the back of the pouch, but the sling made a strange 'whump' noise after the stone was released, so I reversed it and it worked much better. So not really as planned.
