Here's a few pics just to prove that I'm not JUST a sword nut! I hope the slideshow works. Apart from the band sling, now known to me as an Aussie sling, huh, thought I came up with a new design Roll Eyes

the pouch and split pouch designs have come from this website. Material used are Paracord and polypropylene silk.

Let me make this crystal clear. An "Aussie" pouch is only one made me, specifically from that green belting material. I did NOT invent the design, nor do I claim any naming rights. Generically it's a "twin crossed over strap" pouch. So if you make such a pouch, even to the specific size I outlined in another thread, it is not an Aussie pouch, just similar to one.

Oops, it's been pointed out that the above is a bit defensive. Didn't mean it to be so strong. The only unique feature of the Aussie pouch is the material which I reclaim from old belts I get from work. The design is certainly not unique, ie. please don't call any twin strap pouch an Aussie generically, it's not.

Pouch is woven with 5 warps, using a tennis ball as a ghetto loom. I had to re-weave the pouch 7 times to get a tennis ball to fit correctly, but I quite like the final result.

The fluffy tail makes a very satisfying crack

Just finished braiding my first sling, with some help from the cat. Still need to get my hands on some leather and make the pouch but I'll sort that over the weekend, for now I'm stretching the sling to get it to stay straight instead of curl up on itself. Will also need to tidy up the end of the release cord a bit since it looks rather messy.

Took the picture with my phone so the quality is a little bad, will get a better picture when it's completely finished.
