Ja, das war ein Spasz, oder ein Versuch. I said I believed that the English term for Maurerband is mason line. Like in the famous "Mason-Dixon-Line" (which, of course, has nothing to do with bricklayers. That was the Berlin wall. Wink

the leather sling is made of an single piece from an old belt.(russian red army)

Thank you, Et Cetera. It was not too difficult to make the cross with the "twist-weave" method. It is not completely even, though, but who cares. For decorations like these, embroidering is probably easier.

I call it the crusader sling. Wink
