nope, i don't. I like archery but there are soo much more problems than with slinging. always loose arrows, water in a bow, make new arrows, get feathers and im not even talking about that cord that whips against your arm (i know, not a major problem, just put some leather around your arm). So ill stick with the sling. powerfull and simple

I'm a bowyer, but I don't have a bow at the moment  Sad. I'm waiting that the wood would dry up so I could begin to work on it. I had a bow earlier, but I broke it. I heated it too much and dried too fast and cracked when you tried to shoot with it.

Yep I have a Barnett Comando, A replica medieval crossbow ( 125 pounder) a Pearson Hunting compound Bow ( 65 pounder).
lost the ability to shoot when I moved to Norman from Rural Oklahoma and Started my graduate studies.
hopefully when I graduate I can start shooting again on a regular basis. and can afford to replace arrows.

Need time and money to do that Sad
It's one of the reasons I took up slinging. I can get a 50 pound ( 23 Kg) bag of river gravel for less than 5 USD.

ok, I dont have to buy rocks. I live in a big district where everyone has a shed at the back of its house. ont the roof of that shed are rocks placed to protect the plastic coating from the sun. I estimate there are over 400 hunderd house around my house in 100m diameter, so that makes a lot of rocks Cheesy  I have a bag made of old trousers i dont fit anymore, which can hold 50. usually I fill it go to the river and sling them all away at the tree on the other side Cool

One of the joys of international membership.
Here in central Oklahoma ( state to the north of Texas) we are fairly flat with bits and pieces of sandstone here and there. Most of our Rivers are clay and sand so not much luck there either. Now in the northern part of the state there is a lot of limestone.

Actually as soon as i get a bit of spare time I'm considering using the local red Clay to make glandes out of and dry them in our summer heat.....
But like anything in life there are things I have to take care of first.

Yep I shoot bows.  I used to make self bows, but I haven't in a while.  Right now I shoot a Java Man bow.  www.javamanarchery.com ;  Its a 54" 54# @29" recurve.  This was my first day of shooting it at about 20 yds.
