Hi Dazza!

You are only my second Aussie customer after Selin, but the first to answer this ad.

I would love to send you a pouch, or a complete sling, to your requirements and give you any other assistance I can to get started in slinging.

Look forward to hearing from you and getting an address to post to. (Send by PM only.)

Regards,

Aussieslinger

BTW I am from Melbourne.

Selin, I'm in Parkes NSW home of the dish. Way out in the bush  Smiley

Aussieslinger, will PM you. It was only the pouch I had some difficulty with, cord was no problem, I followed the instructions on the site for length.

Thanks!!

Michaela

Hi Dazza,

I was going to send a complete sling because I read thePM first. Will send pouch only but if you have trouble please let me know.

If I hurry to catch the post you should have it by the WE.

Sorry! In my hurry to get to the post box I only put on one stamp. So if you you come across a pedantic purveyor of postal products you may have to pay the shortfall.

Would you believe I actually work for Australia Post!

Hey,
I received my sling pouch today, very cool. It is green on one side and black on the other. Made from a very sturdy looking rubber mat. (Kinda like from a conveyor belt, like what Aussislinger said.) The material is very much like leather in feel, but thinner for it's strength. It looks like the pouch will last forever. I am just now braiding up some cords for it...I am excited to try it out.
Thank you very much Aussislinger.

Hi Lupis, Mordechaj and Fogish

So glad you like the sling pouches. You don't know what a thrill it gives me to know you have and like them.

As far as the actual cords by all means braid if you like but I just use ordinary commercially made cord the kind designed as motor mower pull start. The material is probably polypropylene. The only down side is that being white it shows the dirt.

Regards from Australia

PS If you do wear it out don't hesitate to ask for another!!!!

Pouch came today - looks great:-

It will go inside or out. So which side do you reckon is best for stone retention. I'll probably use parachord for string as I've got some, with loops for attaching :-)

So many thanks and I'll see what I can find to send down under :-)

ps. those keys get everywhere

Hey, Those are pretty! I like the two-tonedness. Nice work aussieslinger and very generous offer. Nice job promoting slinging and slinging-camaraderie.

Thanks for the compliment, but I can't take any credit or criticism for the colour. It's just the way the material comes. It is used belting from mail sorting machines. Often the technicians replace it when it gets a bit shiny, but still perfect for our use.

I use my slings green side out as that's the way the belting goes over the rollers on the machine. However I am not sure if it makes any real difference. Experiment and see what you like best!

Regards,

Aussieslinger

3 minutes ago, the mailguy came and delivered it, really thanks!!! NICE HANDWRITING, Aussieslinger!!! Shocked it seems to be really durable, and im now going to make strings and attach them. thank you again aussieslinger

hours later, lots of stones later... the verdict; Great! ill think this is going to be my favourite "modern" sling (most of my slings are made from leather and hemp) it works good.

Good to hear you like it. As I said in other posts, the idea of the cupping is to allow it to use round ammuniton safely as well as ordinary stones.

Thanks for the comment on my writing. I used to be a draftsman in the old days when that meant using a pen on paper. I always try to write as clearly as possile on envelopes, reduces risk of mail going astray.
