Hi
Dec 12th, 2006 at 5:11am

I've been slinging for about two months, "lurking" for around a month. I've finally decided to join the forum. Dunno why I didn't earlier  Undecided. Anyway, I'm here now. Hopefully I'll be around for a while. Hi!  Smiley

hi there!

Did you start slinging after you found this site?  or before that?

See you around!

I started slinging just after finding this site. ( I discovered slinging completely by accident when I followed a link on a web page about trebuchets.  Smiley ) My first sling was a braided one, I guess, but I doubt it deserved to be called a sling at all. It was an attempt at an apache sling - braided from three strands with a split in the braid (One strand cut out) where a tiny pouch was sown in. I threw it out pretty soon after making another. I now use a simple six strand braid with a split pouch, the type made from 3 strands doubled over after the finger loop has been braided. It works OK for me, better than one made from heavy cord with a split pouch (the only other type I've ever made).  Tongue

Hi Jaz,

Wil send you a couple of my slings if you like. I make them in tennis ball and golf ball size. They work well the ball never falls out. No cost to you.

Regards,

Aussieslinger

Hey Jaz,

Surfing been too good lately? Maybe it's the cricket? Computer packed it in? I need someone from Australia to take up my free sling offer.
