Can you please add an other and a none too?
I like to see the results of this forum but I can not unless I vote.
But I can not vote because I have never taken any game, nor am I likely to.

Willeke

PS. alatla = atlatl?

ive done w/ bow and snare

ive only snared one animal, that was a rabbit. Had it setup with a spring snare (http://www.thefarm.org/charities/i4at/surv/traps.htm ;  first one) along a path towards my dads vegatable garden. It was the first time i tasted rabbit too, not too bad at all.

Ive hunted deer with recurve(as well as modern compound bows), sadly tho I didnt make the bow.. That is something I wish to do tho... go hunting w/ a bow I made.

Don't change anything on your poll or it will screw everything up and may bring the downfall of civilization as we know it...! Then people will have to hunt with sticks and rocks and bits of string and only the well practiced and coordinated will survive. Those who know how to make such "primitive" weapons will become the rulers and chieftains of their villages and...
Oh wait...on second thought...

You can add to the bottom of the poll, but those who do not vote can not see the results.

Thanks,
From the results, so far, it is it is a rather popular topic.
That many have used the bow is no surprise, as you can get a permit to hunt with it in the states, but I am a bit surprised about the popularity of the snare.

Is it an officially allowed way of hunting where you live, or are all snare users poaching?

Round here there is very little hunting, all under strickt licensing, and rather severe punisments on illegal hunting.
You can catch pests on your own grounds, but ever there not many 'tools' are alowed.

Heres what is says about snares for the State of Georgia

Snares may be used for trapping beaver provided that snares are set in water or on land within ten (10) feet of water, including swamps, marshes, and tidal areas. All snares must be marked with the trapper's name or identification number.
