Hello! My name is Rhea and I just recently started slinging. I read the directions for making one in a survival book and decided to have a go at making my own. Three hours later - after overcomplicating pretty much everything - I'd made a sling out of faux leather upholstering material and part of an old nylon clothesline. I was amazed to find it actually worked, and became rather enchanted with the device. Of course, after going online and finding some better information about slings and their construction, I've begun planning a better one.
So far, I've only worked with an overhand throw. I'm proud to say I've successfully made it past the "Oh, crap! I hope it doesn't land on my head!" phase.
Of course, knowing me, I'll have plenty more moments like that - just not as many and not all in a row.
