High jump primer, Hopping the pot.

Fellow frogs, those with feeling left in their legs, it's time to hop off or out of the pot.....

The following is, sadly, only one of TOO MANY very real, very disgusting examples of how far greed can go when we as a nation continue to err on the side of apathy.

When we rhetorically ask ourselves in resignation, "what can I do?" Even as totally viable options available to us are easy and obvious!

http://www.corpwatch.org/article.php?id=13390

You and I can raise our collective voice by simply having nothing to do with Exxon/Mobil.

I for one will immediately make the simple, obvious, and easy choice not to buy their products.  I hope and pray you will too.....

How sad that those in power....and in collusion with oil companies and the other megacorps who run the world, are surely sharing the unholy profits......while making war on the 'middle class'....(read that as any left who feel any obligation whatsoever to justice).

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil, is for good men *(and women) to do nothing."- Edmund Burke

For those of faith,  pray a mighty blessing down upon Exxon and the very concept of the 'corporation'....which recognition in worldly courts as a legal entity in and of itself  has served largely as a devious, though  otherwise NONEXISTENT shield to protect many a 'greedy' tyrant from a sorely lacking and over due meeting with JUSTICE...which for far too long has come to be more aptly defined: JUST US.

When we live in a society which ACTIVELY condones sending shoplifters, disadvantaged and desperate petty crime 1st offenders to jail for twice as long and MORE....than greedy tyrants who callously and greedily approbate the ruination of hundreds, even thousands of lives.....we have fallen far from what once was blessed upon us...

INDEED how true this is!

For those agnostic or atheistic of you who receive this message......it's just good common sense not to continue patronizing such an irresponsible entity.  (That is, unless their shortsighted, animalian brand of 'survival of the fittest' seems appealing somehow.)

For those of you benefitting in some way from Exxon/Mobil.....or those possibly swayed by the gestures it makes on behalf of wildlife or other charitable acts....please look deeper than that.  It has made a killing, both literally and figuratively over the years, especially as of late.....breaking all sorts of profit records (36 Billion, that's with a 'B', last year, more than any single company in history) as we are squeezed at the pump, forcing many among us to choose between a decent diet and driving to the daily grind for the week.

It maintains a huge den of ravenous, shall I be generous? .....let's just call them 'attorneys'......jumping through every loophole there is, each continually probing for any opportunity to forge their own vacuous personal destinies as the originators of new and unique fissures in the Swiss cheese our justice system has become.  They stand, each in his own mirror, vanguards on a Daliesque and dubious frontier......one upon which, if we each look closely enough, precious time can be seen melting away before our eyes.

Given the resources, these toothy grinned and flailing land sharks will someday find some sort of time loophole too....so that they can retroactively suck you, I, and the very Earth dry before you are ever born.....Hey, if it were possible, don't think for a moment that they'd stop there!  Heck, they're doing it to you right now,  greasing your palm with miniscule 'cash back' bonuses and gas card goodies!  Yay!

It's a child's Shell game, really.... look what's in this hand! A sucker for baby!  And babies we are, aren't we!  Sucking at the hind teats of many a prize winning corporate sow.....to whom which our allegiances are assured, partly by the implied threat of a growing, though ever more appealing to some, antiquated concept.....

Self reliance/personal responsibility.

The well worn phraseology of:

"Think globally, act locally"

The cry of the neo patriot....is imbued with the backing of mega conglomerates everywhere....

I say, any truly caring and thinking world citizen would best be concerned with the task of thinking locally....and acting locally at this late juncture, for in the word of old Ben Franklin:

"If we do not hang together, we will most assuredly, hang separately."

And that's how mega corps win.....leaving joe blow, ie. You and Me on any given day, at any given moment....twisting in the wind.

Because they love to network.....the ties that bind them are much stronger than we less ambitious layfolk, as is evidenced at nearly every corner of modern society.

Greed, love of money, love of power, naked ambition.....

They trump common sense, loyalty, derision of evil, thirst for justice....ad nauseum.  It's enough to make a grown man cry.  And it has, it does....

And IT SHOULD.

I say, don't let the market hype and shiny trinkets continue to fool you any longer!  They are simply trying to keep their gravy train barrelling along the tracks, trading shiny beads and booze to you, trying to keep you happy on the reservation....while, in effect, making you go blind and impotent. or worse.

Think it's a joke?  Yeah me too, a sad one.  The truth, should you care to examine it, is far more nightmarish than most of you will ever care to glimpse upon.  Much less thoughtfully investigate despite the stark lack of droning comfort such an enterprise represents.

But, almost lamentably,  I digress....we are only talking about Exxon/Mobil for this brief moment.

Ok, Just because the invention of the 'corporation' provides many a loophole for greedy vermin to crawl through does not mean that it cannot be held accountable in God's court....it is past time to pray to God for all corporations in this increasingly Orwellian society....that they be judged by how they treat their employees and society.

If you be so inclined, say this prayer with me:

"Almighty Father, bless Exxon/Mobil abundantly and bind the machinations, objects and minions of the evil one regarding it....unbind that which they have bound in tattered rags and let the blood of Christ flow upon her, that your will and spirit may permeate Exxon/Mobil throughout!"

"Father, you see past the smokescreen of incorporated hegemony, the hypocrisy of letting an un real entity be treated as a legal straw man,  You are not swayed by the mumbo jumbo associated with Corporate Accountabilty, and are the Creator of a far simpler and saner form of justice called 'Individual Accountability'......Father, let your blessing come quickly upon that corporation, it's officers and all accountable staff even as we pray that you send your Son quickly.....Your's is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever,  Amen!"

And people, follow up with Action,  simple and consistent action......Exxon has made obscene profits this year, last year and as far as that goes, what most of us would consider obscene, every year!....Obscene!   It's greed has judged it worthy of receiving His hand upon it.

Let it be so, and have nothing to do with Exxon/Mobil.

Forward this message as your conscience dictates.....but regardless of how you feel about the sharing of this truth or the manner and personal convictions with which it is conveyed.....personally ACT.

It's not hard to simply choose to ask for God's hand to be revealed in the matter and avoid patronizing such an egregiously irresponsible entity as this.....

And this in itself, I trust, will speak volumes regardless of whether or not this truth spreads beyond the few people of whom I am privileged to call....

Friends.

Sincerely,

Mitch Robinson

P.S.  I can hear that nagging voice in all of us now....."too little, too late" ....yada...yada..yada....

And you'd be right......for the vast majority of us, it already is and was....along time ago.

But as we've all seen or heard before.....sometimes winning the seemingly smallest of battles can have a way of changing a whole war.

My hat's off to those who realize that loyalty to common decency and justice is worth dying for......and greater still, those who actively seek, find and share that loyalty with their brothers and sisters regardless of petty (by comparison) differences.

God bless us all in the coming days....for they unfold as foretold in His Holy word.

Wo0t! I must admit that I didn't read the whole thing, but I support boycotting exxonmobil completely.

If moral and religous reasons aren't enough, listen to this!

Do you want to pay more for gas!? Always buy the cheapest gas and never from Exxon/Mobil. If no one buys from them, they'll have to lower their price, to stay competitive, smaller places will lower their prices also. This will continue until gas stations can't afford to bring the price down any lower. Sure it may not be as low as should be at that point, but a lot better than it is now! Spread the Word!!!

Sounds like they caused an oil spill and haven't really done anything about it for 17 years. That's pretty terrible.

You'd think it'd be simple enough to just light it on fire. I mean, it would pollute the air, but do less damage than being muck on the ocean's surface... Undecided

Why do they even think about it?! if its really just in the hundreds of thousands, even a couple million, so what!? That kind of money is nothing to a huge corporation like that. I'd give them plenty of extra just for good publicity.

There has to be more to this..... it can't be as black and white as it seems.

You are correct, CanDo....and in the convoluted system we have allowed to metastasize into the many tentacled specter towering over us today.....

'Doing the right thing' has become a dark, dingy, gray nightmare for gigantic, bloated conzerns such as Exxon, to achieve.

Considering Exxon made 36 Billion last year, the largest single company profit in recorded history.....while many of us had to choose between a decent diet and driving to the week's daily grind.....

It's seems clear where their 'loyalties' lie.

I guess I can't speak for the many fishermen who lost their entire livelihoods.....or the myriad others injured by Exxon's continued irresponsibility....

But someone should.

And I guess, technically, I am.

Seems I could advocate that we band together with slings of David and Goliath fame and rally around the motto:

"Exxon victims unite, sling a rock at a tanker today!"

But that would just be spinning our wheels in the safe zone.....and maybe puncturing a Greenpeace raft or two in the process.

The real danger these days, the front line as it were, is in slinging the stinging words of truth in the face of tyranny......a tyranny like no other before it or after.  One which looks upon free speech, epitomized by the meaningful words of Voltaire who said:

"I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it."

As issuing a form of psych warfare terroristic threat!

"If we don't believe in freedom of expression for people we despise, we don't believe in it at all."- Noam Chomsky

http://www.quotegarden.com/censorship.html

So, how does any self respecting, globe wringing Hydra get around such an obstacle?  All too easily these days......By simply controlling the venues for verbal activism, ie. not within X number of miles of any political event.....monitoring communications, outlets of expression visa vi , this forum, the internet at large, among myriad other techniques, many too unbelieveable to reiterate here.  Largely to better categorize for present reference, or future action, such individuals as your's truly, who still manage to grunt out an unauthorized thought or two.

Effectively, they are seeking to ensure by all means deemed necessary, that such words do not give birth to any form of physical action contrary to what is written on the short and dusty "list of approved forms of physical, public expression of dissent" which, it is rumored, is buried in a hermetically sealed vault somewhere beneath Lenin's tomb, Hitler's Suicide bunker, or Ghengis Khan's recently excavated 'Tea tent'....I'm not sure which.

Story is....that the last man to look upon "The list" was found to have copied it in it's entirety just before strangely disappearing......leaving behind his word for word transcription of the list.

It read simply, and I quote:

"intermittent frowning".

LOL....(sigh)

Smiles,

TS

Greetings Tint,

I agree, that is one right question.  Perhaps even 'more right' would be the question:

What can't I do in accordance with my Creator's will, guidance and support?

A single man and God constitute a majority.

That same man and His adversary would otherwise constitute one short, intense tantrum.

And given that the wicked one and his army are cast down to the vicinity of Earth, knowing they have but little time....seeking whomever they may devour....our sick, stubborn and weakened planet will soon, largely be throwing the tantrum of all tantrums.

And our Father's patience is being withdrawn.

I buy gas from BP when I have to refuel because they're devoted to researching alternative energy sources, and they funded a fossil digging expedition I was a member of a few years ago. So, they support alternative energy and dinosaurs!

A good idea is to petition your government to force oil companies to support the use of renewable energy resources.  These companies have a limited lifetime - there must come a point when they have to invest in solar and wind powers - why not sooner rather than later?
Of course, this will have no effect.  Neither will a boycott of products that people want to buy.  America is enormous, and it is full of frankly stupid people, as any country is; they will continue to load up on fuel, get paranoid about terrorist attacks, and vote in retards, whilst still talking of Christianity.  You can't do anything about it - they have been brought up valuing their rights; to bear arms, to shop till they drop, to have the lowest fuel costs in the world.  It doesn't make them at all content, but they don't care, the fat pillocks.  Boycott Exxon if you like, if only not to feel guilty, not to change what they do.
Excellent ideas, though, TS.  If only all Christians in America thought this way.
