As far as I know they are made of horse hair.

I bought them a few weeks ago on "The tibet village project"- a charity organisation that raise money for the children of tibet.  The slings were made by school kids in tibet in hopes to suports themselves.  There were 7 fo the slings at the time and I bought them all (wouldn't want them to fall in the wrong hands!) Grin

If anyone is interested I am up for trading some of them.

Hey Tint have u used any of the tibetan slings? How do they work? I'm  curious about the little string tail at the release cord... Does it whip loud?  I like noisy slings, (if you can't hit them at least you can scare them out  Grin )

hey guys, i could make some braided split pouch nylon cord slings for someone in trade for a leather pouch sling, or maybe just some good size scraps.  i could probably make two or three, just to give out or to use on a muddy day or whatever.  who knows?  anyone interested by the way?

we should start a forum wide vote on whether or not Chris should start a new forum for trades, if we get a majority of yes votes and he sees all of them, he might be convinced to set it up. what'dya think, by the way, I now feel useless, cause I cant make anything worth a crap anyway, or get acess to materials for that matter. I say we wait for at least one trade to actually happen before opening up another forum.

The slings form Tibet throws very well but they are not particularly loud.  Not since Matthias' whip/sling came about anyway.   Grin

Thanks for the offer, Fritz and Ben.  But all I am interested so far on this thread is the bola!

sorry to say i'm no longer up for the tibetan sling trade, since if i buy it from the village project it will benefit a worthy cause.

anyhow, if anyone has a nice firepiston, i could become a good craftsman very fast  Grin
