Arthur MacArthur - my 6th grade teacher.

Not a teacher but a strange name none the less (i worked as a telemarketer and came across this one):

Cne - I pronounced it (snee)...she didn't like that

It SHOULD be pronounced she-naay

How the heck was i supposed to know how to pronounce a "c" next to an "n" without a vowel...and how the heck does an "h" sound get in there anyways!! Angry

Let me think of a good one here..katselbanger i thought that was a sword but i guess its a name too or skeet McRummines - that ones even spelled right i asked them how to spell it. a few others, and others more that get distorted with those blasted cell phones.

Reply #26 - Dec 18^th, 2005 at 4:28pm I knew a History teacher, from Ireland, whose first name was (Patrick in english) but was known in Gaelic as Purry, from Padraegh. He said that was the way they pronounced in the County he came from---in other areas it was pronounced Pawry. The faculty called him Pat, except for me---I called him by his preferred name Purry.
