I am planning on making a blowgun out of 2 feet copper pipe (since my mom doesn't wnt me to use 5 feet of pipe because she thinks it would be too powerful). What can I use as a mouthpiece, and what are the effects of using a short barrel??

You can use a PVC reducer as a mouthpiece.

There is a technique that enables you to shoot a short blowgun further.

1) Inhale.
2) Put your mouth to the mouthpiece.
3) Put your tongue in front of your front teeth.
4) Blow with the tongue blocking the teeth.
5) When the air pressure inside your mouth is high enough and you are ready , retreat your tongue and blow.(But becareful not to charge the air so hard inside your cheek as that will hurt , if you use this technique )
(and do not swallow the dart)


I can shoot a small nail about 20 metres away with my 1 and half feet PVC .59 calibre blowgun using this technique. 8)
