Some of my first projects
Nov 6th, 2005 at 8:05pm

Well, here are some of my first projects starting with my most recent, a trebuchet. It is working well. Launches rocks almost past the lot with the greyish, blueish looking house. Haven't tried it with full counter wieght yet, but it is bending the 1/2 inch rebar holding it up with ease. Launched an acorn squash. That was alot of fun.
...
...
...

Then here is a ballista I made. Didn't work to well, but I didn't give it much of a chance. I changed it into an onager w/o uprights.
...
...
...
...

Hope there aren't to many pics for some of you.
It took me like 45 minutes to upload my pics and then I got a message saying several of them didn't work. But I did get some of the better ones.

Soon I'll be preparing the treb for winter use. Going to launch snowballs and iceballs. Next summer I am going to make an icesickle shooter and a treb twice the size. And don't worry, only snowballs will launched at people. Ice balls and icesickles will be aimed at empty forts  .

That's all I can think of to post. Have any questions let me know

Easily over two hundred feet with the treb and 1 and a half to two pound rocks.
But I haven't been able to test it to it's fullest because of being in backyards. And it is hard to transport by myself. Probobly won't be able to untill next year unfortunently.

I like it . I want to build one up north on top of my hill. Its 110 ft higher than the surrounding ground . I have plenty of rocks for target practice . I wonder what the range would be from a hill. Cool  Cheesy

Wow, that's a pretty big hill. Sounds like fun.

Yes, I'm the young looking kid. Smiley

I've just dismantled the treb to rebuild some of it's parts. Hopefully I can get the last of the parts today.

Its my favorite spot to meditate and sling stones from but your machine would really be cool up there as I sit on a pile of ammo . I probalby could hit my access road from there . What Would you suggest for a target ? I Was thinking of a beat up rust bucket car I could always haul to the scrapyard "afterwards" . Do you think It'll go thru the roof ? Shocked
