Has anyone one else hears of this?  I can not afford the downtime right now but during thanksgiving break I will begin.  I will be keeping a journal on it if any one wants to read I supose I could post it here.

Now I'm up for a bit of reverse polyphasic sleep. I sleep for four hours every 20 minutes :-)

Forget that 20 mins at a time stuff.  If sleeping was a sport I'd be an olympic contender :-) I can sleep through anything.

Me too, I can't wake up any later than 9:00. The sun can be a nice alarm clock. Sometimes I hear something and wake up, and other times, two alarms go off and I still sleep, and I miss the darned bus at 6:30!

but apperantly you will get the same amount of sleep rem is 4x the amount of nrem and it takes an hour and a half to break into rem but with this method you break straight into it

well then its for you. But i have nothing to do at night but sleep. It would be extra time,  but useless time for me.

lmao the reason you don't meet people who can say they only sleep for 2 hours a day is that they are too punch drunk to hold a sensible conversation :-)

The older you get the less you tend to sleep. But that's more to do with the fact that the older you get the faster time p[asses and the more you realise you're not long for this world and don't want to waste any time.

Me I intend to get as much sleeping in as I can while I'm still young enough to appreciate it :-)

I will be very interested to know if it's actually possible to sleep for 20  mins every hour as a delibarate act (just nodding off watching television can't count - or we'd all be polyphasic).
How do you intend to structure your experiment ?

Think about it: are you going to go about normal activities and then suddenly lean against a wall for 20  mins and then carry on with what you were doing. Or lie in bed waking up and going to sleep regularly.
It's an interesting problem. If you spend as much time in bed as you would normally, just with less sleep  it obviously gains you nothing. But then in what normal situation can you be comfortable enough to fall asleep for only 20 mins and then carry on what you were doing.

When you work out the logistics I'll be fascinated to know how you do it :-)
