Well I can certainly think of places that putfile.com can be put :-)
The damn videos just buffer up to about 30% and then restart after about 30 mins I've yet to see anything resembling a recognisable video. Tried the stuff to get the video clips on the hardrive and it looks like putfile figured that out and blocked it.
So please get them somewhere else, I'd love to see competitive slinging.
Going to go see if I get any more luck on my winxp system.
Against my better judgement loaded vwindows media player and the codecs. No bloody difference - there's a lot to be said for old fashioned mpgs :-)

I can get the files fine using the "View Source" method. Click on one of the links and get the video to start downloading. In your browser select the "View Source" option to view the raw html. Now do a search for the string "asf" and look for the real URL for the video. An example is
http://x402.putfile.com/videos/28002032670.asf
Cut and paste that back into the URL field of the brower and it should download as a normal file would and you can save it.
I use mozilla but I cant see it not working for IE or something else.

Agreed David that they are throwing pretty lightly. I'm a bit more accurate with a moderate amount of power, but I've been hitting (or not hitting) mostly longer range targets my whole "career". The slings look really short as well - well under a meter, closer to 60cm?
So the *real* question is where are the videos of Zorrro slinging? Hope you did us proud!
Matthias
Matthias, few of the participants slinged at full power videos swhow the most skilled participants, there were a lso a lot of newbies and kids.
Slings are 60 to 100 cms
I did my 2 rounds of 3 stones and missed them all
I always sling at full power, so is dificult to get accurate. i'll ask my brother or my wife to film me a video so you can see me

The style they call "Buckaroo" is the figure 8 style we talk about!
i call it Buckaroo (cowboy) cause that style was mainly used by cow shepards, overhead is more common on goat and sheep shepards

Zorro, Do you know if that Buckaroo style is legal in the Balear competitions?
They actually release at the end of the second revolution don't they?

I do not think that these slingers did follow those rules.
I saw one use what I would call an underhand style in which he did use no wind-up at all. The stone came up and away.
Willeke
PS, Thanks Zorrro, I did really like to see these videos.

I particularly enjoyed one fellow, grey hair and a blue shirt, he missed twice using a side-arm style and then just chucked one underhand, no spins, he just drew the sling back and then whipped it forward -- followed by the clink of the rock hitting the target. Is that the fellow you are talking about, Willeke?

At Istan there were no rules, you can sling with any kind of sling (lenght, materials etc) and bring your own projectiles, The only rule is if you give it one spin and misfires it counts as a shooting. even you don't need to have a sling of your own, participants and organization lend you one if you want to try
As far as i can recall balearic federation has some restrictions in the materials and type of sling, got to check the rules to see what they say about slinging style.
