i do realise that this could possibly become controversial, so if you find it strange please do not be offended. I am interested to see if anyone has ever tried something like magic, especially if it worked, and what happened. Thank you.

Are you kidding?

We are, each of us, magicians.  The self-conscious mind, our stage.

We manage to trick ourselves each and every day, and more effectively than anyone else ever could.

Peace,

I think what he means is ritual magick, like Wicca, shamanism, OTO, and other types of magic.
Magic, however, is only one aspect of these beliefs. If no one would mindi could talk about it, or Shar, i would be happy to give you my Email.

Yes fire looks very cool it is almost magical. I made a magic wand once. It was a pipe with one end open and ice cold water in it. I swung it at some pool guy who didn't like me and ran away.  Roll Eyes

I think that the use of mirrors and and smoke to fool the eyes and senses is fascinating.  It would be neat to have a job as a magician if you could actually be paid for it. Undecided

i don't believe in magic, although in the case of suggestion it might well work (ie someone puts a curse on another person - if the cursed person believes in it, he will die. this is well documented in africa)

kind of like Clan of the Cave Bear. Ayla didn't think she really died, but the other people thought she did. I have a good quote from a book that shows a bit af magic. I'll post it tomorrow when I have a little more time.

Magic is simply the observation of something you don't understand.
There is natural magic, but anyone who believes that a particular sequence of words can have a magical effect is missing the point.
It's down to belief.

I believe those are magical words, CA.....

Arthur C. Clarke said something to the effect:

"Any technology sufficiently advanced beyond our own, would be indistinguishable from magic."

And there's no shortage of gullible minions to swallow up all sorts of 'magic' these days......

Preferring short term gratification.... in effect, to trade their inheritance for a bowl of red soup.
The Bible says something to the effect that we strive not against flesh but the powers and principalities
Powers and principalities are actually hierachies of angels, so not entirely sure why you'd be striving against them. Although old testament angels aren't beings you'd want to mess with - goes right along side the 'eye for an eye' mentality.
Hard buggers them old testament boys :-)
