Sling.

Then he cut the head off with Goliath's own sword.

Slingshot, which need very strong rubber, was not yet invented.  It wasn't until the 18th centry that we could make rubber that strong.

The slingshot is not a real primitive weapon.  The kind of rubber required is not available in the wild.

People often confuse the sling with the slingshot because the two names sound similar.  And in some writing the "shot" from a "sling" is also described as a "slingshot".

Slings were used widely in warfare.  Slingshots never played a big part at war because by the time they were invented, fire arms and crossbows were already well developed.

And who cut off Samson's hair, and how many animals of each kind did Moses take into the Ark?

If I remember correctly Delilah cut Sampson's hair, and moses didn't take any animals into the ark. Noah took two of every animal, and Moses was nowhere near the scene.

Yay, Mike!  Correct on all counts!  Leeds_Lobber, I love trick questions like that!  They're fun even if I get caught by one.

I've always had a problem - a major problem - with that story.  Did he take two of each kind of bacterium, slime mould, parasitic worm, mosquito?  Bacteria multiply by division - would Noah know only to take one?  How did he select the appropriate animals?  How did he get animals native to, say, Tierra del Fuego, on the ark?
I think it's a wonderful story, and I find it a very likely possibly that all the known world of the Hebrews was flooded - research indicates that the Black Sea flooded the Med with lots of excess water, drowning areas of north Africa and the middle east.  And I do love the Bible - as a historical document and guide to how to live (I only really like the later books - like Phillipians - for this).  But I find a lot of Old Testament books a little... odd.
Anyways.... David used a sling, very likely to have been made of wool, braided and woven.

ever wondered what happened to the dinosours i think some  species didnt make it to the ark and are now extinct . also it 3was only a 40 day flood i think im not really sure that alot of bacteria can survive a while under water i think the ark was probally more like a giant ecosystem with flies and ticks and the like

Oh.  You believe it, I see.
Uh... nothing wrong with that.

But I'm curious:  You believe that the extinction of the dinosaurs occurred when people were around, indeed, less than 10,000 years ago?  Not, say, 65 million years ago?
There are many types of bacteria that can survive, nay, thrive, underwater.  But there are many that are intolerant of oxygen, hydrogen, and other elements humans take for granted as being beneficial - for certain bacteria, oxygen is like sulphuric acid to us.

I bet old Noah just made a giant floating zoo, and only brought two of every animal he liked. I also think he might have herded some of them to the tops of mountains and such. He did have a long time to do all this.

So you believe that adaptation occurs, but that it doesn't affect what that creature is?  You realise, that makes little sense.  I don't particularly want to talk about it on this forum, though.  You can email me if you want.
