I'll
try to play anything I can get my hands on... Currently those are a piano, a couple of guitars, two (piano) accordions, a ukulele, a bunch of homemade flutes, a chromatic harmonica, a bagpipe chanter, a didge (instrument?), a little drum... I used to have a steel drum (
Steel Pan Tuning
- this guys is my hero, amazing resource!). I'd like to be able to play fisherman shanty fiddle, but haven't been able to tolerate the sounds I make. I'd *really* like a big low register wooden pipe organ... along similar lines I want to try to make a big contrabass recorder one day.
For all that, I'm not particularily musical. I'm technically proficient on piano, and can muddle along with the rest. The flutes and the accordion get the most attention these days with my semi-nomadic lifestyle.
I seem to gravitate toward minor-key folk/ethnic traditional music when I play. Listening is a whole differnet story!
