hey folks I have found that these volcanic stones fly further I threw six over 200 yards furthest was 204.75
they average about four ounces this is two views of the same stone

...
...

this was a over all great trip took a sunny day off 74 degrees cast some stones
taught a young enthusastic gentleman my version slinging and sling making.
folks don't be sursprised if you come to pacific northwest. and you stumble on to my version of the sling
I have taught a lot of people this year

Picture's a little fuzzy mate, but those look to be breccia or some sort of porous basalt, but the colour is a little light on the front one to be basalt. Any idea on the type of rock? I'd be interested to know if it is possible to make sling ammunition out of igneous rock. Nice job!

Nice stones with natural dimples Smiley

In the shape, structure and position of each stone, there is recorded a small piece of history. So, slinging them, we add a bit of our history to them.

I am not what kind of stone, not basalt we have a lot of it I intend to find out.
I think it is the dimples that make these fly so well
better  than any other stone around here. defenitly worth hunting though rock piles for
