I am a fan of the singer Suzanne Vega. She wrote a song long ago titled "The Rock In This Pocket (a song of David)". This song was about King David and his sling.
Are there any other lyric or writting that we can add to a list?

Ah Suzanne Vega...every time I hear the name I start humming "Tom's Diner"
Anyways was watching Hamlet (Mel Gibson version) tonight and here's one from a rather popular quote -
To be, or not to be--that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
