Hey yeah i tried that push up for you Mike and i get the same as you, feels like im overstretching my elbow joints, ouch! But i suppose your muscles will become more flexible as you keep it up. It was the same with leg stretches and wrist stretches i do in aikido they used to hurt like hell when i first started but now they dont bother me at all.
