HOW DO YOU CARRY YOUR SHOT?

How do you carry your shot (probably rocks)?
Even if you're at a river bank or a shore you still want rocks of a particular size and shape. The need to carry shot is by no means overwhelmingly necessary but it does seem to exist to some extent everywhere.
I just sent to CheaperThanDirt.com for some more and different heavy-duty military shoulder bags to try out and use.

I went to the "Machu Pichu" exhibit here at Denver's Natural Museum (findings from an archeological dig in Peru). In the gift shop, they were selling bags braided in the Peruvian style. The carry strap is an honest-to-god Peruvian sling, just like the one Whipartist ordered for us a while back, and the bag is a simple pocket braided (woven?) from the same material as the sling, in complimentary colors and with complimentary designs. That's what I carry my slings & rocks in (though I usually just sling rocks found on-site). It's about the size of a large purse or small duffel bag.
Somewhere in here are posts regarding a "Shepherd's Bag" made of leather. I think there are even instructions on making your own.

I don't carry them in places I know I 'll find some, but in places like near my house, I just carry them in a normal bag, because I'm not going to buy a braided bag to go outside my house to sling.
But if I'd go to a camp to sling, it'd be cool to have a braided/leather bag to carry them.

I use a shepherd's bag I made from 4 ounce double split leather. It works great for an abundance of carrying duties including stones.
Generally, though, I try to find a place to sling that has a ready supply of stones. They get heavy to carry around.
See this thread for my bag:

It sounds nice I would like to see it.

I have some leather I'm planning on using to make a sling pouch. The shoulder strap, about 2" (5cm) wide will form a large oval, my shoulder at the top, the pouch at the bottom. Two letter 'D' shapes about 10" by 10" (25cm x 25cm) attached to either side of the strap at the bottom will form the pouch. Pretty simple.

Knight,
Most craft stores carry leather. I think wal-mart, or at least certain ones, carry it. You can also order it over the internet from

.

If it makes you feel any better I'm 17. I think you can get a sheet of leather that's about 8 X 11 inches for around 10 dollars. Craft stores like Micheals, Hobby Lobby, etc. should have it.
