can anyone tell me how many strands you start off with if you want to use lets say 3 bellies and then a outside? for a 7-8ft whip would i be using 4 strands with a length of lets say 9 feet to leave room for the plait. that means i need 4 strands of 9 feet for each level. then that would be 16 strips of leather at 9 feet long each. am i on the right track? thanks for the help in advance guys
