Slinger of stones

Simply amazing
Nov 29th, 2003 at 2:15pm

Just had to join this forum. Found it after some searching on the web. Can't believe that there are others out there doing the things I love and loving it too.  Shocked
I made my first sling at about 10 or 12 years old and have been using them off and on since. I'm 48 today and not as limber as then, but can still hurl a mean stone.
WhooDoggies. Life just got better knowing that there are other folks slinging too.  Cheesy  Oddly enough my father in law is the only other person I know who can, has, and does use a sling (he's 75). He used to carry a plastic bucket of good stones around in his pickup camper for his sling, (good stones are difficult to find here).
when I figure out the machanics of how to use this forum I'll post some pix of my current slings, some new some use.
For now just wanted to say hello to everyone.

If your from up north you CHUCK a rock.
If your from down south you CHUNK a rock.
But me, I just sling em. Grin

Welcome WalkingBird,

You've come to the right place.  We're all sling enthusasts here.

The easiest way to show us your pictures is to email them to me:  chrios@rocketmail.com   I'll upload them to the image directory on the site and give you instructions for how to embed them in your post.

Welcome, WalkingBird!

This is, indeed, a great place.  Lots of good information already, but surely you can add to it.  So, please do.

Before I found Chris' website I was the "lonely slinger" too. It's really great to see experiences of other guys here.

Your father's in law vitality is proof of positive effect of slinging for health. So, lets sling endless Cheesy

In the shape, structure and position of each stone, there is recorded a small piece of history. So, slinging them, we add a bit of our history to them.

Hello Walkingbird!

That name sounds as though it could be Native American Indian? Or maybe just a neat sounding nick-name. Welcome, I've got one year on you in age but I slung my first stone just this past August. I'm hooked though. Send us some of your slinging stories!!

Welcome,

David
