Introducing myself...
Sep 17th, 2003 at 6:30pm

I am fairly new to slinging.  Started making them less than a year ago.  So far they have all been plaited cords with leather pouches (will post pic soon I hope.)  I really like to shoot and throw things and enjoy making my own stuff.  Have always loved the slingshot.  I shoot a bow and made my arrows and quiver.  Am making my second longbow now. Made a spud gun once.  I also made some bullroarers this spring.  Equally cool as a sling, marginally safer.

Among other things, I am a draftsman.  I use AutoCAD for my designs.  For things like sling pouches and my bullroarers and some other stuff, I print my designs on applique film. Just peel it up and stick on the material to be cut and go to it.  Great stuff if expensive.  Reduces layout time and cutout time substantially.

I have difficulty getting projectiles which are the right weight.  Golf balls are a good size, but too light to "feel".  With my job, I don't get much chance to throw stuff anyway, but get out when I can.

Well, anyway, hello to you all.  Great site.  Looking forward to learning all I can here.

Jeff, I officially welcome to the site!

I say officially because you've been active on here for a few days already and your 6 posts away from junior member.  I think you will learn a great deal and people will learn from you too.  I think using AutoCAD is a great idea.  I think I asked before, but I'd love to see a picture of your pouch design from AutoCAD.

Looking forward to seeing hundreds of future posts,
Chris
