Hey my name is Austin and I’ve recently tapped in to the primal knowledge of slinging! I’m very much a novice but feel like this has been a part of human behavior/ survival for so long that it was almost as if my body and psychology knew how to do it… it clicked on an intuitive level! Now I want this to grow within my community and have been pitching the sling to many.
Luckily due to the impact of Functional Patterns a training system that focuses on respecting human evolution/design and gets people out of pain and performing better by focusing on the “big 4” that got us here Standing, Walking, Running and Throwing. Coming from this mindset the sling seemed like an obvious progression and I’m so pumped to learn more! Not just about the technique but the overall historical and social context and the making as an innovative technology.  Thankful folks like you are keeping this alive for younger generations.  :)
