Title: Slings in the old west?
Post by Lusolad on Jul 24th, 2024 at 7:43pm
Has anyone ever read about the use of slings by Spaniards, Mexican, or Anglo folks out west?

I was listening to an account by Herman Lehman ( a German American adopted by Indians) where he says he and a group of his Indian buddies were attacked by Mexicans with slings.

Wondering how common this was?

A few years ago, I read a book by a Russell Osborne.  I did post it on the forum,, He kept a daily  journal for 10 years about his time as a fur trapper out west, 1840s. And he wrote about his team getting attacked by Mexicans with slings, and having rocks thrown at them.
