My name is Dan and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. I developed an interest in slinging around the start of the year after seeing it on the internet, and have been hurling tennis balls for my dog Bandit and slowly but surely honing my accuracy ever since.
My first few slings were made of things I found around the house like old strings, wires, and duct tape, and were pretty poor in quality. But after buying some different types of string, I settled on a braided split pouch jute design, which I have made a few of and given them out to friends.
Nowadays, I enjoy playing fetch with Bandit using the sling, skipping rocks at the beach, and slinging at a balearic target with my dad. I've been meaning to enter more of Practical Paracord's online slinging competitions, but so far I've only done one.
I also enjoy making slings and sling-related stuff, like the "whistling" clay bullets I made last week (whistling is in quotes because they didn't make any noise, might need your help on that one!). I've also just started designing a fighting game featuring the sling, so I might post about that down the line, once it's more refined.
I've been lurking on this website and in the general slinging circle for a little while, but I decided now was a good time to make an account and introduce myself. I hope to involve myself with the slinging community more and play an important part in sharing a thoroughly underrated tool and weapon with the world and with you all! ;D
