Title: Hello from the UK.
Post by red fox bushcraft on Apr 8th, 2024 at 3:58pm
Hi all,
I run a company called red fox bushcraft, in southwest England, and I'm taking a masters in experimental archaeology. I recently acquired some flax fibers from my university and turned it into a Balearic sling. I am now hooked and am planning on including slings in few assignments, and possibly a dissertation next year.

I have joined the forum mainly to ask questions when i encounter issues when making and using slings, but i am also poking around for ideas for my dissertation based around the production and/or use of slings.

I look forward to interacting with the forum members.
Matt, AKA 'red fox bushcraft'

Greetings Matt,
Welcome to slinging.

Your resource dump is here with 500 + pages in "pictures of slings and slinging" and plenty of making tutorials.

Flax is an excellent start. Hemp fibre is readily available from ebay or screwfix.

Have fun.

Welcome!
Also down the South-West. Looks like a UK slinging event is in order in the near future...
