Acro LD-1 sling description: LD-1 stands for Leather pouch Dyneema cords 1st generation. The LD-1 sling was used for most of my long range hits. The features of this sling are: • a very durable cupped leather pouch that can sling a great variety of ammo shapes • dyneema cords (the most abrasion resistant material I have used) • Acro release. Sewn leather release for light grip, powerful shots and high durability • a Leather finger loop for comfort Youtube videos shots at 100m https://youtu.be/eDn_YvdDDs8?si=bjzyJDEV0hWG2u9E hit at 175m with a 3mm LD-1: https://youtu.be/uwBVH2bS8A8 Attention: Every time you use a new sling do it at a safe place in a safe way. Don’t sling near other people or animals. Don’t use a sling without a warm up. Increase the speed of your shots gradually. not available |

Have you found that the cord holes are stretching open at all and might need some reinforcement? Or has the leather been plenty strong on its own?

it's plenty strong for slinging. you can rip it if you use it for stretching or pulling heavy stuff.
after a lot of use with abrasive ammo it gets thinner on the leading edge of the pouch. This weakens the leather at the connection and can rip. This can take more than a year even with abrasive ammo and no leather oil. |

Nice! I haven't worked with leather much so I'm not very familiar with how it might perform in any given situation. I've been experimenting with grommets on some seatbelt webbing because even with a clean hole that frays and degrades very quickly.
They make a small stiff point on the pouch(they're 1cm OD), but I think it's small enough that it still lets the pouch unroll naturally during release. I haven't been able to feel the "bump" on release that you normally feel from a stiff pouch connection like a traditional whipped seatbelt sling connection. |
