I was fortunate enough to be invited to a great event recently. Rasul from the 'Bay Slinging' club organized an event in Cupertino, CA.  We played sling dodgeball with tennis balls for about an hour.

This was one of the most fun events I've been to for slinging. Thanks Rasul!

Here is a video of all of the hits (and 'outs') from the day. We all wore safety glasses.  We were going to used socks, but they needed to be held together with something to work effectively, so we just took off some power and did it with tennis balls.

Thanks for making this post! The event wouldn't have been the same without you. I'm very glad you had fun.

I'll try to post the rules of the game (and other details) soon, in case anyone wants to recreate the game.

Also, we will probably have another slinging dodgeball this upcoming weekend.

Looks like great fun.  The tennis ball is perfect IMO.  It has just enough sting to make it interesting but it won't really injure anyone.

@Jaegoor Yes! We would have done this, but we didn't have any balloons, only socks. For the next event I'll be sure to bring some balloons.

Looks like a very enjoyable game. I imagine the range will take the sting out of the tennis balls too.

This kind of PvP slinging would be really fun for a variety of games. Capture the flag, siege type games with defenders having cover, zombie style games too.

I could imagine simulated combat with these too, like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfC55_tCtU4. You can already see the beginning of team strategies emerging, may give us some further insight into how slingers were used on the battlefield.

This is just too good, it’s cool seeing a bunch of slingers in one place in a casual context, competitions are great and they do hold a place within any community, but seeing something grow into the point where it can be seen in mass outside of large organised events is pretty special.

Judo, I have definitely considered trying out some games such as CTF, king of the hill, etc. Even a LARP-like event could be cool (some sort of historical recreation like they do in the islands)

We've actually thought about using dryer balls! Just need to figure out a way to get a bunch of them for less money

If you buy 200-500 of them, just go straight to Alibaba and buy bulk from China.
