Title: You Never Know When It's Your Time
Post by Rat Man on Sep 11th, 2023 at 3:08pm
Three days ago I got an early morning all from my sister Donna.  As soon as I saw her name in the caller ID I knew someone in the family had died.  She never phones me, especially in the morning.  We always text.  In my head I started running through the older family members to guess who it was before she told me.
It wasn't an older family member.  It was my 27 year old great nephew Tommy.  His roommates came home and found him unresponsive.  He wasn't a drug user and was in supposedly good health.  He died from some sort of respiratory issue... just like that, out of the blue.  He had just graduated college a year or so ago and was very involved in his career.  His future was bright as they say.
It's a tragedy when anyone dies but it bites especially hard when it's someone young who hasn't had a chance to do much living yet.  He should have lived another fifty or sixty years.
The funeral is Thursday.  It will be awful I'm sure.  Be grateful for every day because you never know when it's your last.

Sorry to hear about your great nephew RM.  You have my condolences.  27, the rockstar age.  Definitely way too young.

Oh, wow.  My condolences as well. Sorry to hear that, RM.  It's a weird thing to think that we all won't be here some day, we just don't know when.

Sorry to hear that RM. I hope you can all find peace in whatever way works best for you. I always liked walks or long drives. No music, just drive somewhere isolated and sit.
