Just figured this out, seems to be working as intended. Work hardened soft steel wire, great for single use. No power tools needed, all done simply by common hand tools.
Fully one piece steel build! Solid! Can be further improved by thicker wire though https://youtu.be/l0l9sJ5b3Uw |

Pretty cool. Good for small game.

The corrugated cardboard dulls the edge instantly though, you will need to resharpen it for a second shot. Single use only! I now realize how a dull edge won't cut through the clothing. Be sure to keep them razor sharp for a humane kill. |

Wow! That's awesome! :thumb:
Very dangerous (to anything on the receiving end). But yeah, the wire is going to be very malleable. Which is what allows it to bend and move without breaking. But that characteristic means it's not going to hold an edge very well at all. |

I think that will be similar to Bronze Age knives hardness. Sharpens easily, stress hardened, but won't hold an edge long. |

I wonder if you could temper it?

Low carbon steel, impossible |

Not impossible
One would just have to case harden it first in fact case hardening might be quite fun with a blade of this size! Lol I might make a couple of these and give it a try |
