The fires are still raging with no end in sight.  This is awful, particularly for those with asthma, COPD, or other breathing problems.  I live in South Jersey which is ground zero as you can see from the air quality map below.

Reminds me of the bushfires in Australia a few years back. It was hazy for months! Not pleasant at all. Let's hope those fires die down soon enough.

How has your rain been?  I haven't had a drop in three weeks now.  The whole lawn is mostly brown at this point.

Although RatMan's map doesn't show as far south as I live in Florida we haven't had any air quality issues since the annual sugarcane field stubble burning ended before Christmas.

This is the second year of a serious drought in New Jersey.  Our lawns are also brown.  I live at the shallow end of Lake Rene and it looks like crap... lots of dry shoreline.  We are parched. 

    The night before last when I took the video the Philadelphia are had the worst air quality of anywhere on earth. 

   Thankfully it's much less smoky today.

Western New York has had a limit outdoor activity warning issued. All outdoor school activities are cancelled and vulnerable people should either stay indoors or wear masks.

You guys up north should have some brisket slabs or pork butts outside under cheesecloth,  getting s-l-o-w smoked courtesy of the Canadians!

    The smoke returned yesterday and today it is worse than ever and it stinks. 

I feel your pain Rat Man. We had it really bad here in 2020 and even in 2021. It was smoky for 4 months and we had 35% of normal rainfall for 3 years in a row. :(

Hope you guys get some reprieve soon. It sucks.

Thanks IG.  It's still smokey today but tomorrow storms are supposed to clean it out.  Storms have been missing us for the past few years.  Hopefully this one won't.
