Title: Not a well aardvark - prospective members please read
Post by Curious Aardvark on Nov 11th, 2022 at 11:45am
Just a quick note for people trying to sign up for an account.
I've been quite ill the last week or two, to the extent that had to call an ambulance out on Monday as I couldn't breath.

That was an experience I'm not in a hurry to replicate.

At the moment I'm alternating between trying to cough up a lung and feeling terminally nauseous, the latter due to the antibiotics.
There are other complications that I'll spare you
But this the illest I can ever remember being :-(

So not currently spending any time on the computer.

All username request emails have been received and I'll get to them as and  when I can.

Thank you for your patience .
CA

cheers for the wishes folks.

Pretty much kicked the chest infection, now dealing with a LOT of water retention.
Got an ultrasound tomorrow.

But given that the water removal tablets did exactly nothing, I'm assuming my kidneys are pretty much shot. Or at best temporarily non-functional.
So theres that to look forward to.
The doctor did mention something about my liver as well.

Anyway all caught up on singn ups now :-)

Well had my first ever x-ray yesterday and an ultrasound.
They won't tell you much, but apparently no obvious problems

They did tell me I had water in my lungs.
Well, yeah lol not exactly news.

So it looks like it's 'just' my whole blood chemistry that ms utterly and totally buggered.

And while the NHS is pretty good, fast it isn't.
The emphasis on the patient to try and force things through, rather than any attempt on the part of doctors to fix you.

So I'm basically a coughing water filled out if breath lump for the foreseeable future.

Though it took time, a few things I thought were buggered up forever eventually healed.  There's always hope.

Yeah, this is all related to the diabetes.
If I can find some medication that doesn't make me suicidal, that'll go a long way.

At the moment I can't walk the dogs, or do anything even slightly strenuous, just get light headed and out of breath.
Just can't get any real oxygen into my lungs.

Plus I'm puffed up like the stay puff marshmallow man.
My legs are so swollen that I've got liquid coming out of my feet
Kinda gross, there's enough 'water' in my crocs to pour out every couple hours.

Got blood tests next week, but no way to contact the doctor and tell him the water loss pills have zero effect.
They don't accept messages.
So got to call up next week and try to get a consultation.
It's frustrating, to say the least :-)

What people don't realise about honey us that it's over 80percent pure sugar.
There are all sorts of things that would be good for me if I weren't diabetic.

That said my blood sugar doesn't seem to have any connection to my diet at the moment.
Which is also seriously worrying.

Got blood tests on Tuesday and then hopefully we can start trying to get the whole mess sorted.

@blindsquirrel
Bung me the video and I'll have a look :-)
Waist and legs is what you needed to start using, more fluidity and better weight transfer, so we'll see how you're getting on :-)

I'm type 2 - well I was. At the moment I think I'm out on my own with type 3.
But general rule of thumb is to avoid all carbohydrates as much as possible.

Type 2 is quite different to type 1
Often type 2 is caused by insulin resistance, so plenty of insulin in your blood, it just doesn't do a great deal.
It's actually a lot more involved than type 1, which is basically poor insulin  :'(production.

At the moment my biggest problem is water retention.
I figure I'm carrying at least 20kgs of excess water in my tissue.
My legs are swollen tight and I've got water oozing out of them, which is pretty gross.
I also look about 6 months pregnant. And that's really hard and tight as well.
After 4 weeks of heavy duty coughing my stomach muscles are tight and objecting to being stretched.

The major problem is the water in my lungs, just can't breath properly and after walking about 10yards I'm light headed and out of breath

I mean I've walked dogs with torn Achilles tendons and torn quadriceps and something nasty I did to my right knee - twice.

But not being able to breathe has just shut me down completely.
Never known anything like it

Can't even drive in case I come down with a coughing fit and run into something.

I've got a blood test tomorrow and a mystery appointment Wednesday, which may or may not be to discuss the ultrasound and x-ray results.
And hopefully a conversation later today to see if there's an alternate water loss tablet I can take instead of the ones that aren't doing anything.

So all in all things are moving as fast as I can push them.

The medical centre receptionists main job would seem to be to keep the patients and doctors as far away from each other as possible.
So all in all I think I'm doing better than average.
I do lay it on as thick as possible, which at the moment really isn't hard
So I think I got the 'he actually sounds like he's dying !' sympathy vote.

Throw looks better :-)

Try stepping forward with your front leg instead.
It puts you less off balance and gives you a smooth transition into leaning into the throw.
https://youtu.be/cVJHS8yIWT0
This is me slinging fairly relaxed.
You can see the weight transference quite clearly.

It doesn't look like there's much power in the throw, but I'm throwing at a target 50 metres away and seriously uphill.
The shots that miss travel a further 50 metres before hitting ground.
So it's a very efficient throw that I could easily keep up for days, and did :-)

I think the second hodd hill expedition, I threw well over a thousand throws in 2 days with zero side effects.

Very sad and shocked to read this. CA has contributed immensely to the slinging community and it just won't be the same without him. From reading this thread it is clear he kept his defiant and generous spirit to the end. RIP my friend.

This news is horrible. I won't deny that we had our differences on occasion, but I would never and could never deny the impact he has had on this sport. Without him and his dedication to this forum, I would not have met people I count as close friends now. C_A has been a huge part of my life and the fact I never gor to meet him in person is hard to accept. RIP.

This is tragic. He kept helping people out on the forum despite his terrible condition.

No father should ever have to bury a son, but this life simply isn’t how we want it to be. Know that your son left a positive impact on many people around the world, and he will not be forgotten.

I will pray for you and your family, and I hope peace and comfort will be yours.

Place your hand on your chest. Feel the beating of your heart.
It is a reminder that we only have a given amount of heartbeats on this earth. Every beat is a count down.
Use them wisely. Do not let vain distractions get in the way of what is truly important. For our time here is short and temporary, that is how it was determined to become. Each of us are not even sure if we reach the day of tomorrow, or the next hour.
