Title: Selective Learning With Dogs
Post by Rat Man on Jul 5th, 2022 at 11:36am
It's funny how quickly dogs can learn a word or phrase if it's something they like.  Words or phrases like pizza, ice cream, park, walk, Brandy is coming, treats, ride in the car, etc. they hear once or twice and they're committed to memory forever.  A reasonably intelligent dog can develop a very large vocabulary of hundreds of words, gestures, and phrases.
Yet if it's words or phrases they don't like you can repeat them multiple times every day for years and they never do seem to get them.  All gone, it's not your turn, no more junk,  shut up, and such they conveniently can't ever understand.
