Title: Internet Security
Post by Rat Man on Jan 20th, 2022 at 8:10am
Many people get upset over trackers or when their "personal" information is sold.  They feel they are entitled to some degree of internet privacy.  There is no such thing as internet privacy, never was, and never will be.  Every picture you look at, every page you open, and every stroke of your keyboard is recorded somewhere.  For me that's never been a problem because I knew from the very beginning that the internet is not a secure medium.  It's pretty much the opposite.  So there are two solutions;  spend the rest of your life with your underpants in a bunch over supposed internet privacy violations or simply don't post anything you don't want public.

pretty  much nailed it ratman.

In most countries it's the law for your internet provider to hold at leats 3 months record of every website visited from your ip address.

And the number of goverment departments that can access that stored info is a lot more than most people realise.

The amount of legislation that was nodded through in the wake on 911, was truly scary.

So if you are doing something naughty online - don't use your own internet connection.
So wear a disguise and go to mcdonalds - I mean who'd want to be seen in mcdonalds anyway ?

Or park outsie a supermarket and use their internet.

It's a bit like when the us immigration required anyone visiting america to give their index fingerprint on arrival.

My advice - buy some gloves.
