Threw a bowling ball 1,000 feet dropping almost 2,400lbs.

Wow that went really far! Do you even know where it landed? I’ve always wanted to build a trebuchet, they are one of my favorite weapons.

Although why does the date in the corner of the video show 2019? I'm guessing the camera just doesn't have the date set.

Yeah, my dumb action camera resets the date and time every time I change the battery. This was taken last Sunday.

We found where it landed, the field was damp and so it kicked up a lot of mud and left a good crater.

I couldn't hit 10 pins with this thing to save my life, the spread 300 meters downrange is like 100 feet and wind was playing a big role.

I've got a bunch of footage I'm sitting on, just need some time to edit things. I'll definitely post a bigger vid in a few weeks!

I do want to get around to putting one of these together some day. Just a small scale one that I can use in the yard. Every year the plan is to get all the wood cut and ready to go over the Winter so I can just put it together the following Spring. Maybe this year. Maybe next...

The sheer power of one of these is terrifying. I can't even imagine being on the receiving end of multiple of these. Even with stone walls... :o

I hope to do some more shooting against the target wall with fireballs for New Year's.

I agree that the power is terrifying. This machine is half-height and 1/20th weight to medieval large-scale. I think the performance of my machine suggests that some of these trebuchets could throw 300lb stones a quarter of a mile.
