yeah I was thinking it was a bit short notice. Odds of me getting my passport renewed in time are pretty low.

A bit more advance notice next time would be good :-)

so I've been looking into getting a new passport.

If you send off for it - minimum 3 weeks.
If you spend more money and go to the nearest passport office (couple hours drive) they will get it done in 4 hours, or post it to you within a week (slightly less money).

The snag - it can take 3 weeks to get an appointment lol

So I'll ring the buggers up tomorrow and see what the current wait time is for appointments.

So I've got a fasttrack appointment this friday, new passport should get here the week after.

Right then, I'm definitely going  :-)
Now just need to get the spanish email translated and start looking at flights :thumb:

should be a blast.

Rules wise, I have to use figure 8 if i want to hit anything.
I can just about produce a sling made with all natural materials.

But I'll also have some totally synthetic ones with me.
Finished the butterfly pouch design going to print the first one out tonight.

basically I can't see them being too rigid over the rules - otherwise whats the point inviting non-balearic slingers ?

I've got an email in spanish that i think implies they'll help cover costs, so need to get that translated. And i'll contact the chap who started this thread and find out best airport, hotels etc.

My first holiday for 7 years and the last one was to wyoming for the first slingfest.

Cool 'hobby' :-)

Figure 8 is allowed?

it is if I'm slinging :-)
Otherwise there's bugger all point going.

Put it this way - it's what I'll use. If I get disqualified, I get disqualified. But at least I'll stand a chance of actually hitting something.
