Post by Jauke.H on Oct 4th, 2011 at 4:02pm
I can get a long bow for 40 Euros thats around 55 dollars
Its 30 LBS and its 24 inch long, it has a nylon string, and there are no arrows included
I asked him what wood the bow is made of so i am still waiting for the reply

Do you guys think its a good deal?

I'm thinking that is a left handed bow; from the position of the red arrow rest. You a lefty? ... if so you might like it
seems a little in the light weight side at 30# Might be OK to learn the basics. .... OOPS! I just read 24" for the length ...

eh ... no I would definitely stay away from a self bow that short that claimed to be a long bow.

I'd look for something around 60" long because the bows draw length ( arrow length) is related to the bow length.

YMMV.  I would not buy it .... I would allow someone to pay me to haul it away.

At least one of those pictures is reversed.  The arrow rest changes sides.  Jauke, is the bow 24" long, or does it have a 24" draw length?

You could probably make one just as good for only the cost of a $10 red oak board. I personally wouldn't buy it cause it really isn't a well known manufacture, It seems to have a 1 inch brace height which will give you a mean hand slap, if he stores the bow strung he would also know nothing about archery, and a 24in bow with a stiff handle will give you about a 7in draw.  ;)

Also after about a month of shooting 30lbds will feel pretty weak, kind of like the limp fish handshake, that is the way it was for me at least.

Yeah, that's draw length, though that's still pretty short.  If you're a tall, or even average sized guy, that's going to be a real short draw.

wise choice, its not a bad looking toy bow, but it is basically a toy bow and you'd get bored of it awfully fast.

It's a good price for a child's bow if it is of good quality.
