ok, so today i was trying to figure out what to make some simple one use sling projectiles out of. and then i thought of ashes! i knew they put them in concrete sometimes, and that they became very hard when wetted and then dried, so i took a large  glass with water in it, and started dumping ashes in, about 1 cup of water makes 12 balls and 1 large glande. a little bit of water takes a ot of ashes before it becomes moldable! keep adding ashes until you have a substance like concrete. then mold the balls from them, and let them air dry until you can pick them up withought them slumping. then cook at 200 degrees for 20 minutes, then 350 for ten minutes, all tempartures are farenhiet. let them air dry for a night, then sling away. these are one use projectiles! they are not super- duper strong!but i like them pretty well,and you can make them in about 2 hours.

what would you compare the end result to? about as hard as sand stone I'd imagine.

pumice, it is very similar to pumice, but it is a frangible sling round, so it is not super strong, but pretty ight, it would break a window, but probably wouldnt go through chloroplast board

It doesn't break apart upon release at all, does it?  I have that problem all the time.

He calls them frangible rounds, which is a military term for a shotgun slug designed to disintegrate or fragment on impact.

i threw mine today,and i found that if they have a crack in them at all, they will not survive the release, but mine were very accurate, and they leave a clear piont of impact :)
