I haven't posted for a looooong while, but I figured I'd share. I'm slowly trying to add more aesthetic appeal to my slings. I'm experimenting using bone and horn beads for the release. Slings are such simple and elegant devices I find it a bit of a challenge to embellish them without hurting their performance. Eventually I might try making one completely out of natural materials, or perhaps tool a design on the leather pouch. Hmm... a braided deer skin sling with an antler bead for the release...

If it works then it is beautiful already. if you can tell what it should do by looking at it, it is beautiful. ;)

There is beauty in simplicity and that sling definitely falls into that category for me.

Not that I can tell. I've used slings like this one, however wtih a leather tab instead of beads, for over a decade.

    Good to see you again.  Taking time to make your slings look better shows that you take pride in your work.  Personally, I like the extra touches.  

The good thing about braided slings is that you can make them look good simply by using colored yarn.

i love added touches to slings probably because i'm a newb ans it makes no difference to my distance or aim (their always abysmal :p)
