You mean, translate the word "sling"? Did I understand right?
If so, in Italian it is "frombola" :) Greetings, Mauro. |

:D wonderful!
So it is "frombola" in Italian, "fromboliere" for slinger, changing the last -e with an -i if it is plural. Lead glan is "ghianda missile", and clay or stone ones is just "proiettili". I think it's all here! ;) Greetings, Mauro. |

There is a thread somewhere on here that list a bunch of words for sling in different languages.

In Russian, it's "праща", pronounced prash-CHA, i.e., with the stress on the terminal syllable.
In Mandarin, if my rudimentary Chinese skills suffice, it's "投石器", pronounced toe-shir-chee, which literally means "stone throwing implement". |

In this link, it has the Mandarin 弹弓 (pronounced dan-gong) for sling; this translates literally as "stone bow" or "pellet bow". I suppose this term to be more or less synonymous with the "投石器" ("stone throwing implement") I came up with... |

One of our members living between China and Tibet said that the current Chinese slang for the sling was "stone whip" and that the Tibetans called it something a little different. I don't know if he was referring to Cantonese, Mandarin, or another language. |
